| Amazing Race 12/7 *Spoilers* |
|
I was a little surprised to see a non-elimination leg so early in the race. I also had mixed feelings about Don and Mary Jean not being eliminated. I like to see an older couple able to compete and not get eliminated right away, but Don complains too much.
Does Jonathan actually have a heart? I was shocked to see him giving children candy and acting human. And the wrestlers weren't screaming at one another for a change? Everybody was tolerable in this episode! Although Adam made me sick when I found out his mother cuts his toenails. :puke:
I still haven't decided who I am rooting for in this race. I like Kris/Jon and Gus/Hera because these are two teams that are kind to each other and appear to be civil to other the other teams.

| 1. I wanted so badly to see Don and Mary Jean booted |

I'm tired of Don's complaining, and quite frankly he worries me in every episode, as he looks like he's always just one road block away from cardiac arrest. I also lost enormous respect for him in the previous episode when he tried to play the "age" card, pleading in effect that he was too old to count pans and dolls.
So Jonathan threw about $1.00's worth of penny candy out to some kids on camera; what a towering humanitarian. I still can't wait to see this assclown tossed off the show and hauled into divorce court.
And speaking of assclowns, can you believe how infantile that "Hellboy" guy is? I was laughing out loud at his second offer to commit suicide this season (the first was his offer to lay down on train tracks a couple of weeks ago; last night's was volunteering to throw himself off a ferry), when his (ex-)girlfriend said, "That'd be awesome!"
All and all, the couples were more sedate last night. Even Mr. and Mrs. Bolo were more tolerable. But I too am rooting for Kris/Jon and Hera/Gus, who are head and tails over the others in class and politeness with the locals.

| 2. I was being facetious in regards to Jonathan |

I thought someone had offered to commit suicide on another episode or another season but I couldn't remember for sure. He is so childish about everything.

| 6. They'll be gone soon.... |

I like them but they just aren't cut out for this game. And it's not all about the physical part. I don't think they are mentally up for it either.

| 9. I'm starting to like Hellboy's ex-girlfriend |
|
She had me at "That'd be awesome!" Koolaid, meet TV screen.
I wish some of these damn dating actor/model teams would get booted off, I can't tell any of them apart. I'm rooting for Gus/Hera and Lori/Bolo just 'cause they're different.
I howled when the locals were laughing at Hellboy when he tried to bring the salt in...omg that was so funny.

I like Mary Jean, she's a real trooper. But Don has got to go.
IIRC, there was a non-elim leg fairly early last season, as well.
And is it just me, or are the challenges really tough this year?

They always seem to make the first leg in a non-Western country a non-elimination round.
I'm not sure who I am rooting for, but I found another player to root against: Kendra. Could she bitch any more about everything about Senegal? Everything was too dirty, or too smelly, and you could tell all those people of color were making her nervous.
And though I like Gus and Hera, I was definitely rooting for Gus put his man boobs away!
Don and MJ are not long for this game, sadly.

But they seem to make stupid choices. Especially when it comes to choosing which task to perform in the detour. Who on earth would choose to go fishing-- one of the most unpredictable activities in all of the land. People who make stupid mistakes like that don't last very long.

| 7. Yeah, I thought that about the fishing as well |
|
I can only surmise that Gus and Hera and Don and Mary Jean have never fished before. All my fondest memories of fishing involve sitting for hours on the bank or in the boat and not getting a single bite.

| 8. I think two words caused them to "take the bait" |

"Fertile" fishing grounds, and "four" fish.
