Hey everyone, I hope you all have been well. I've not checked in since the end of the TV season a few months back. Anyway, Survivor is upon us again, and with it comes another Dr.S sponsored contest.
This year we return to 16 survivors. This is the 15th Survivor series. Rumor is the end is drawing closer and closer, and Probst has not signed on for another season. Can anyone out there confirm this? If you have played before, please do so again. If not, join us. The game is simple. Pick a survivor, and the one that lasts the longest wins. The prize is a basic XL t-shirt with a survivor logo on it.
Here are the rules, the contest opens on Monday September 17, 2007 at 9:00 am (Eastern time or GMT minus 5 hours). DO NOT MAKE ANY PICKS UNTIL THE CONTEST OPENS ON SEPT 17 OR THEY WILL NOT COUNT! The first episode airs on Thursday September 20. The contest remains open until Sunday September 23 at 11:59 pm, which is over three days after Survivor's first episode airs.
Once a player is picked, that player can not be selected by anyone else. The first to post a player gets that player. The longer you wait, the greater the chance that the player you want will be taken. This allows people who want to go to CBS.com and view the videos there, plus the TV Guide channel promo, make an early selection before the show airs. It also allows people who want to wait and pick after watching the first episode to play.
Good Luck and I hope you all play. Also, please do not discuss any spoilers in this thread. If you know who wins or have some inside info, feel free to use it to make your pick, but I don't want to hear about it. I like to watch the season unspoiled.
FROM CBS: SURVIVOR: CHINA will feature a cast of 16 Americans who will begin the series amid the bustle of downtown Shanghai before moving to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony where they will be instructed to leave all of their worldly possessions behind. The castaways will then be marooned with the clothes on their back at two separate islands on Zhelin Lake (translation: the Land of 1,000 Lakes) located in the Jiangxi Province. They will split into two tribes, Fei Long (translation: Flying Dragon) and Zhan Hu (translation: Fighting Tiger), and will each be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation and assistance throughout the game.
SURVIVOR: CHINA will once again afford each tribe the opportunity to obtain a Hidden Immunity Idol which may save someone from elimination at a future Tribal Council. This time, two Hidden Immunity Idols will be in plain sight (one at each camp), although the castaways will not realize this at the start of the game. Each week, the winning tribe of the Reward Challenge will be allowed to kidnap someone from the losing tribe. The person who is kidnapped will receive a note from host Jeff Probst before departing for the enemy camp and will be instructed to give it to one member of the enemy tribe (the kidnapped victim will decide who receives it) in private. The clue will inform this person of the Hidden Immunity Idol located somewhere at their camp. This person must then decide if they wish to share the information with their tribe or keep it to themselves. The kidnapped victim will return to their original tribe at the following Immunity Challenge.
Here are the two tribes, the players, their ages, occupations and where CBS says they are from: Zhan Hu 1. Ashley Massaro 28, East Northport, NY; Professional WWE Wrestler
