| Survivor China - Episode 9 Discussion Thread |
|
Well, this will be a short post because I am too tired and pissed after watchign the Ducks throw away the National Title last night. But before Dennis dixon's injury, I was havign a nice night. I watched a good episode of survivor and a good first quarter of football.
It was a bad move to oust Frosti instead of Eric last night, but I guess Todd, Amber and Denise see the Courtney Frosti alliance as more of a threat than Eric's physical gifts. Also, I think Amber likes Eric for his physical gifts, so she wanted to keep the only male eye candy left around for a few more days.
It was pleasant to see the camp without John Robert, who was a big downer. But it seems James is steppign it up, and he is gonna get ousted real soon if he is not careful. Phe Gee is also on thin ice. she was gonna go last night if she did not win that IC. She better keep winning or make a move real quick. she needed to move to oust someone last night. I think her chances are over.
The Drum bounce the ball challenge was fun. I think James todd should have taken the smaller buckets and they would have done better. JAmes had the big bucket which was harder to aim. Oh, and that back rub Courtney got from Frosti was weird. That girl has no muscle mass to rub. I think he was rubbing bones. The immunity challenge was great. I love when one group can just sit out because they know they are safe. Usually this backfires, but I think the move last night ensures that Todd, Denise and Amanda are safe. They need to figure out how to get rid of James and Eric, then move on Phi Gee. Phi Gee is not goign to win at the end, but Todd is right that Eric would. I think James would too.
I'm wondering what the big end of tribal will be. Any ideas??? I was thinking a double eviction, but it does not look like it, at least from the previews. Maybe its a change of camp or some other shake up.

between Frosti and Erik. Depending on the challenge, either one is dangerous. The problem Todd needs to solve is how the hell he is going to get the immunity idols away from James. I would have thought he would have addressed that this week.
I agree that PG missed her chance. She had the idol and should have made a move to break up the Todd/Amanda pairing. If she isn't a giant pain in the ass the next couple days she might be safe because they need to get rid of Eric.
I paused the DVR to see who was in the cave with Todd when they did the quick zoom in the previews and it looks like the only people not shown in the previews are Courtney and Denise. Can't believe either one of them gets voted off unless they say you can't vote for someone that already got votes and James plays the idol.
So is there a show on Thanksgiving? Can't believe they would want to go up against the football.

Erik goes first, but maybe its James. The preview shows James and Todd banging heads. Todd may want to trick him out of the game as soon as he can. If he can get Denise, Courtney and Amanda to agree, they have the votes. Set it up as taking out Erik all the way, then backstab James. If he plays the idol, camp is going to SUCK and maybe James becomes the first person kicked off for killing and burying a tribe mate. He's got the burial experience.
Thanksgivng Survivor. Wow, thanks for reminding me. I have to rush home from the in-laws to watch. This gives us an excuse to leave early.

I thought that is what they would do given that their viewership would be in the crapper.

| 5. I was glad Coutney got to eat twice. She's skin and bones. |
|
I thought the back rub was bizarre, too. Why did Amanda play for immunity instead of eating? Isn't she part of the Todd, Courtney alliance?
Peih-Gee shouldn't have gone after James. It looked like the other team just passed the ball between Frosti and Erik but her team was passing it to all 4 players.
I was sorry to see Frosti go. It should be Peih-Gee next. I hope they keep Eric around so he can do more animal noises...loved his goat bleating!

| 6. I thin Amanda is smarter than todd |

She had just eaten a big protein and carb meal on the boat, so she was fine on nutrician. If they won the idol, they control who goes. I think she knows its always better to have the idol in your possession than in the hands of those you want to vote off. I am dropping respect for Todd. I want to see what happens next between him and James.

And I was thinking that Amanda had just eaten. Competing in this challenge and not pigging out in front of everyone may give her an edge when it comes down to her vs Todd.

She is not acting like she is in control, when she is. Todd is acting very cocky, and as we ahve seen in many other seasons, that is a recipe for disaster. Amanda is by far the best player this year, and I hope she wins this thing. Of course James could break out a string of wins in ICs and with his idols, he could win this thing. They need to trick him into not playing an idol or they will be stuck with a guy like him in teh finals, who I doubt can lose.

| 8. I thought a huge problem at the challenge |
|
was that PG kept bouncing the ball so high. She would get it on the other side of the obstacle and keep bouncing it really high making it difficult to control.
I felt bad that Frosti went home. He seemed so likeable.

I think it probably forced the ball to bounce higher.
If I remember, the other team used the larger drums most of the time. Not only is there more area on which to catch the ball, there seemed to be better control over the bouncing. I noticed that right away.

| 11. Yeah - they should have switched drums |
|
If PG and Todd were going to use the drums, they should have had the broader drums. It made for an easier time with more control. Still, it showed how brains really matter in this game.
