`Runway' lawsuit settled; show moving to Lifetime

Nearly a year of litigation between General Electric Co.'s NBC Universal and Weinstein Co. over "Project Runway" ended Wednesday with an agreement that allows Weinstein to move its popular reality-TV show to Lifetime Networks.

Under the settlement, Weinstein will pay NBC an undisclosed sum. The newest season of the show will hit Lifetime this summer, according to a statement issued by the cable network.

The deal follows arguments in a New York State appellate court last month over Weinstein's appeal of a preliminary injunction that has barred Weinstein and Lifetime since September from promoting or showing "Project Runway" or any spinoff on Lifetime.
