| Poll question: Which "unscripted" TV show would you most like to compete in? |
|
Lazarus has suggest using "unscripted" instead of "reality" to describe these TV shows and I agree wholeheartedly.
Which show would you like to compete on? I'm including some that are not for money and a few of them I've never watched but I am assuming they are competitions.
My choice: The Amazing Race I wouldn't be good at Survivor, I don't know how to swim and wouldn't be very good at forming alliances.

I don't have a home to redo, but I could use the plastic surgery!

My boyfriend is dying to go on that show with me. I know he would completely kick ass at it, as he's athletic, has a great sense of direction and is cool under pressure. Me OTOH? None of the above. Plus with my hair trigger temper I just KNOW they'd edit me to be the bitch of the show...

| 5. "unscripted" is a good term.... |
|
and it has the advantage of being easier to say than, "shows with non-union actors"

I have noticed people criticizing Survivor and other Reality shows (sorry, I don't like 'unscripted' and will stick with 'reality' if you don't mind) because they do not use union actors. These shows are all about using real people. While this season was boring as heck, having the final two be highway construction workers could really not get more 'reality' for most of us.
I can only really speak about Survivor and The Amazing Race, because I don't watch the other shows, when it comes to my next point. Survivor's crew is routinely 350+ people. The techs are union, though many are from Canadian, Australian and English Unions. Anyway, Friends may have used union actors, but it had a crew of under 100 people. These two shows do more than their fair share of union support.

| 7. Amazing Race at this point in my life |

I could, possibly, get myself in physical shape to compete. Maybe, if my arthritis meds get going any time soon.
Of course, they likely wouldn't take someone with bipolar disorder anyway, although I could promise FIREWORKS!!!!
5 years ago, when I was in good physical and mental shape? Survivor, baby. And TAR would have been a blast!

I have a bum back and wouldn't make it passed the first elimination but I would love to see all those places and do some of the challenges. :-)

| 9. Real World / Road Rules challenge |

because it has alot of really hot chicks basically that you live with on some exotic locale and the games look fun usally. That's the reason I've watched so many episodes thus far, the ladies that is. So what if so many of the contestants are complete knobs. I don't watch the regular shows just the team/up challenges.

is a very cool show.
I like how they have to travel to all different locations in order to win.
I always need an excuse to travel.
