| Survivor South Pacific - Episode 4 |
|
Another predictable episode. I hope this changes, and FAST. About the only thing worth watching is how deep a hole Little Russell can dig for himself. At least Russell was a good strategist, Brandon sucks all around. Though I give him credit for holding the weight.
Ozzy is so dumb. He falls for the pretty girls. I suspect it is his Achilles heal is the real world too. So he and Elyse are sharing a hammock and advertising to all who want to see it, we are a pair in our alliance. Man thats just dumb. What I liked was Jim having the stones to call it out, but only doing it to Cochran, so it can;t really hurt him.
So the duel for which dumbass gets to stay alone on a deserted island for 3 more days was close, but Christine won again. Brandon tried to "do the right thing" and talk with her, but she thinks he is as big an idiot as I do. Meanwhile, Edna is trying her hardest to be hated by everyone. She is annoying me and I only see her for 60 minutes. The best part of the epsiode was the bikini reveal. Survivor makes these people wear underwear and rags for a week or two before giving them the clothing buffs and bikinis to wear.
I give respect to Jim and Brandon for holding all that weight and even more for Dawn and Stacey. Dawn bought herwelf at least a week with that win if that tribe ever loses. TC was boring too. I'm terribly disappointed in Coach this season. We got a few minutes of "warrior spirit" crap, but no great stroies about the amazon or carving a rocket out of balsa wood to fight off an alien invasion. I am liking Mikayla more and more for calling out Brandon for his BS. But in an obvious vote, Stacey goes home, or at least to Redemption Island.
the best part of the episode was the "Next Time On" preview where it looks like the castaways are playing a relay race passing bits of raw animal flesh between each other by mouth, after biting it off a carcass. I'm tuning in for that.

..I'm still trying to figure out why they all voted for Stacey after that awesome performance in the IC....why wouldn't they have voted Russell Jr out?
In the flip-side, Ozzy is digging his own grave imho...the bigger move for Cochran/Eve/Jim is to blindside him and not Elyse...getting rid of her would just alert him to the reality that he isn't 'all that' in the tribe, and make him even tougher to get rid of...
At the TC it really seemed as though Jeff was trying to stir the shit..and that annoys me...rather than provoke shit, how about you just ask questions...

Its about being set at the merge. None of them trusted Stacey. If they merge with her, they can not be sure she would not flip on them. So she had to go. It was clear from how she sits at camp, away from the group. There was no way she was not going home, unless they won IC. Brandon, though an idiot, seems trustworthy. But I also think his insanity will do him in.
I don;t think they have the votes to oust Ozzy yet, but migh tbe able to get the votes to oust Elyse.
Tribals take about 2 hours (one lasted over 4 hours once), but we see an edited 8 minutes of it. They talk about lots of stuff. Jeff pushes, prods and pokes. He is trying to get 8-10 of good TV out of a group of exhausted people.

| 3. I think tribal often looks that way because of the editing. |
|
Is Jeff always stirring shit, or is he responding, sometimes, to discussion we did not see or hear? Tribals last for a lot longer than the few minutes we see on the screen.
I don't know the answer. I just know that they try to edit things to make them more interesting.

| 4. they did the meat relay race before |

on Amazon. It was a blast. On that one, the big chunks of meat weren't spinning on a spit, they were free hanging from a rope, so it took a lot of teamwork to bite off chunks.
Ozzy did make a crucial mistake. I think he's trying to be Mariano, but isn't smart enough to pull it off.
Jim has game, but he's playing a bit obviously if even Ozzy is seeing it.
As for Edna, I think that was all editing. Notice the only two who were shown not liking her were Dawn and Mikayla, neither of whom is in the alliance, and one of whom is now gone. Edna's big problem is she is a bit weak socially. Not as weak as they made her look, but she's forgotten a couple of things.
First, she should have gone to Coach and told him about Brandon's reveal of everything. This gives her the opportunity to replace Brandon, moving her from 6 to 5. If there are two pairs in the 5, then she becomes 3 fairly easily. All she has to do is be a better tribemate than Brandon, which doesn't appear that difficult at this time.
Coach needs to be careful. He failed to notice that the Ressell stink eliminated Parvati's chance at winning. The Hantz stink made do him in, too.
I have a complaint nobody's noticed yet. I think the routine is a bit wrong when one leaves the game. When voted out at TC, you're leaving the tribe, but not the game. So your torch should stay lit, but you burn your buff. Then, when you're eliminated from the game, Jeffrey can smuff your torch.
Doesn't that make more sense?
