| I miss good TV reruns, like "The Fugitive" |
|
And how about Mary Tyler Moore and The Bob Newhart Show, if you are into quality sitcoms?
I just like those old shows like "Run for Your Life," "The Invaders," and some of those few great sitcomes. Who ever sees them?
Doesn't seem to depend upon the age of the production. There is a huge gap of reruns that would be SO much better than anything on TV now. Yet we always see Cheers, Frasier, and the like.
How about some really old shows like Dobie Gillis?
I don't want to see the Brady Bunch, thank you very much. i get teased enough about my name being Marcia as it is.
marcia marcia marcia
blech!
How about some reruns of real comedy (including physical comedy)?

| 1. Dobie Gillis would be good to see again but don't count on it. |
|
The broadcasters might not be too eager to pick it up because it was B&W. There are many B&W shows I would like to see again. I would really enjoy seeing Peter Gunn again.

| 2. Thank the TV gods for DVD |
|
So many great old shows are available in DVD format. They're a little bit pricey to buy, but with all the extras, the restoration (many have been cleaned up to a pristine image and have been restored to their full, original network lengths), and the convenience of watching them anytime as many times as you want, I think it's well worth it. You can also Netflix them, should you choose.
Two late releases of note: the first seasons of the Andy Griffith Show and the original Twilight Zone.
I, too, miss those old Quinn Martin shows. If they ever release the Fugitive, the Invaders, Streets of San Francisco, or Cannon on DVD, I will have to take out a third mortgage.

| 3. I seem to remember there used to be so much more on |
|
TV, like shows in syndication or, what I really miss, old movies on TV. I remember spending many rainy weekend afternoons watching old movies on TV. Now all they show is infomercials when they have time to fill--ugh!

Hill Street Blues
I will admit I really like watching Roseanne reruns. I never watched it during its initial run. Very funny show.

| 5. What is up with TV Land and Nick at Nite?! |
|
They used to have the coolest hard to find shows. Now's they're both TBS 24/7! TV Land and the westerns and Matlock - WTF? That's a classic?!
There used to be really good independant tv stations that would show oldies like Patty Duke, Farmer's Daughter. Now it's just Full House and other bad 90's stuff.

they used to show Bewitched, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda and other good shows. At least they still show All in the Family.

| 7. They still show Bewitched once in a blue moon |
|
Every once in a while I catch it on there. They seem to only show it when they feel like it though. :( (That and the Addams Family)
