I was scanning an old (Jan 4) NY Times and saw an ad for 2007 92nd Y lecture series.
Here's one that will interest you:)
See
http://www.92y.orgJOHN KERRY AND TERESA HEINZ KERRY WITH CHARLIE ROSE: The World We Live In John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, says that everyone—not just environmentalists—has a stake in how we treat the planet. Kerry, a four-term senator from Massachusetts, talks about how the environmental movement can survive the tempests ahead with resilience, ingenuity and independence. Kerry, a lifelong proponent of environmental causes, is also a Navy veteran who earned a Silver Star, a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts for his service in Vietnam. He is the coauthor, with his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, of a new book. Teresa Heinz Kerry is the chair of The Howard Heinz Endowment and the Heinz Family Philanthropies (collectively, the Heinz Foundations), disbursing money to various social and environmental causes.
After the lecture, attend a post-event wine and cheese mixer.
Tickets are $50 for "front orchestra"/$25 for "rear orchestra". Wine and cheese mixer is an extra $10
To buy tickets:

I'm sure this must be part of their book tour, and that there will be similar events in other cities. .but this one , if expensive, looks like fun.
OT, but there are gobs of other lectures at the 92nd Y this spring. . Dan Rather, Wesley Clark, Mike Wallace, Oliver Sacks, Tom Brokaw . . and on March 18: Stanley Friedman, on the lecture topic: "Flying Saucers are Real" (Maybe this is an explanation for the last 6 years????)
