| just watched the video of Franken's swearing in. |
|
Biden could hardly keep from smiling while administering the oath, and cheers and applause broke out right afterward. Kerry came over and said something to Franken and instead of just shaking hands, he gave him a big hug. The only other hug that big was for Bernie Sanders. I can just hear Kerry saying, "Congratulations, man!"
A happy, happy day in the Senate. :)

| 2. Those hugs were well earned |

Sen. Kerry did very successful email fundraisers for the Franken campaign, did them for the legal fight and sent his (JK's) paid-staff to Minnesota to assist in the recount effort and to provide lawful counters at the watch.
Those hugs were well-earned.

| 4. What a sweet, sweet moment in our history! |

Loved the absolutely ENDLESS applause, loved Al's reverence for the ceremony, loved the JK hug and him beaming his joy, can't wait to see Senator Al in action! P.S. Over on dKos, on the Al Rodgers diary, they link to a hilarious youtube video of an ancient Solid Gold routine with Al as a highly buff Mick and Tom Davis as Keith. I loooove that that energy and soul and zest for life will now be serving our country in the Senate.

Edit: I can't type!
