Sometime in 2001, I acquired a book of Swinburne's collected poems (illustrated by the great Irish artist Harry Clarke). I finally got it out the other day and discovered the original owner's name is written on one of the front pages. When I had first taken possession of the book, I went immediately to the illustrations because it is Harry Clarke's work that I collect. I never examined the book any further than the artwork, and now that I picked it up to finally read the poems, I see this name is inscribed:
Edmund Quincy Boston, 1965
Obviously, he's a member of the Quincy family, but, is there anything else you can add from a Mass perspective?
Any tales to tell?
