A little "deliverin' the Kerry card" story

I told the postal guy behind the counter what the card was.

He said that was funny because he'd just been Bush bashing a little while before. Somebody had stopped off with a bunch of packages for soldiers, and then drove away with a Hummer.

My comment, "Oh yeah, they support the troops, don't they" and made a gesture with my hand to signify the concept going over these people's heads.

Sheesh.

More people would be against the war if they felt it affected them AT ALL. But people don't even see the connection between gas guzzling and fighting a war for oil.

The worm is turning.

At least these folks in the gas guzzler were sending something for the soldiers. Most of them display flags and yellow ribbons and do nothing whatsoever for the troops.

Hummers might be the mink coats of our times: gratuitous display of wealth at any cost.
