| Kerry and Olbermann, Olbermann and Kerry |
|
The only news show I watch daily is Keith. I guess you can say is I am a KO fan, as I feel he is the only true liberal in the msm news. But I'm beginning to notice a pattern. Slight Kerry-bashing. Tonite it was about the Jury Duty story, and how the idiot in chief got out of it. But his rival went. He even got elected to foreman. He was happy to get elected for something.
Little comments like that. Tonite was not the first time he has done this.
And the almost complete absence of Kerry. Tonite they were talking about Tim Robbins attacking Hillary for playing it safe on Iraq. He was talking about the dem party not having one message on Iraq, but having several. The Murtha version, the Biden(?)version and the Hillary version. Not one word about the most outspoken dem on this war.
Keith - WAKE up!!
Any other KO watchers in this group?

| 1. Maybe a little note asking him nicely why he feels he has to get |
|
digs in about Kerry would do a little good. Sometimes they do these things thinking people want to hear it. It almost sounds like he is playing to the Kos crowd.

Whom I like a lot. (I can't watch him every night, but I cath about 1/3rd of the shows or so.) I think KO would be amenable to hearing out a complaint.

| 12. Wouldn't hurt to remind KO that despite the perception media is anxious to |
|
promote about Kerry, he couldn't NAME one lawmaker who has investigated and exposed more government corruption than John Kerry has over the last 35 years.
I guess KO was concentrating on his sports career and wasn't paying attention to IranContra, BCCI, CIA drugsmuggling, and illegal wars in Central America.

| 4. It is difficult to figure KO out on the subject of JK. |
|
His guests have made snarky remarks about Senator Kerry, but I've never heard any real snipes from KO. The odd thing is, it does seem that he avoids saying Kerry's name. Yesterday he showed a clip that Kerry was in, but he said "democrats" and showed Reed first. I'm not certain, but I think he may have mentioned Reed's name.
Yet sometimes I get the impression that KO would like to say more about JK, but can't. Just the expression on his face sometimes. And I don't see him smile or agree when one of his guests attack Kerry. He doesn't make fun of Kerry either and KO is not shy about attacking people he doesn't think highly of.
I'm going to write him and ask if he can give us more Kerry, but I'm keeping an open mind about KO. (I'd be really sad to have to categorize KO as a K0S.)

Let us not forget that he was the only member of the corporate media that gave air time to the 2004 election "anomalies."
He snarks on everyone. He laid a good dig on the idiot in chief (no his daddy didn't get him out of it this time) before his slight on Kerry.

and yes, he gives the idiot was he deserves!
Thanks everyone for sending him email. I will too, he is one of the few that has not given Kerry the attention he deserves.

** Reminiscence warning! ** ;)
DU can be so weird at times.
One time he blogged something like "Kerry may be one of the politicians who are playing the election reform advocates" and that entire 2004 Election Board went nuts. There was practically a war between the hardcore KO fans, who leaped all over Kerry, and the Kerry diehards (I don't remember who), some of whom talked about "stringing KO up." :P
Overall he's a good guy, but he is a member of the press (I won't say "media" because of the bad connotations) whose principal agenda is likely trying to hold viewers and readers.

but I have noticed he seems to not like mentioning Kerry even when Kerry's done something extremely important and newsworthy. I am almost postive that KO didn't say Kerry's name last night when the clip of him was shown. That irked me.
Another time I was irked at KO was when he named NASA as the "worst person in the world." All three of my kids are scientists in the space program. :grr: But that's beside the point. Keith does a good job of sticking it to the Republicans, and that counts for a lot in my book.

Anybody catch it? (Monday 12/5)
I was actually hoping that no one from this group was watching ....
I think KO spends too much time listening to Howard Fineman.
I am not bashing KO, still will watch everyday, even tho I know he is not YET a kerrycrat.

I really enjoy Olbermann's show, but Howard Fineman is JERK and I never listen to anything he says. I've seen him sucking up to Imus and Matthews too many times to take him seriously.
I think Olbermann is really intelligent, and funny, but he's not immune to the current memes, such as "What? John Kerry's still around??"
I'm actually thinking that this kind of coverage may in the long run help Kerry, because it turns him into an underdog - and he likes that position.
