JK's diary is falling down the reco list....plus there are some folks there spreading false info (I know, what else is new).
I have to go do some county Dem stuff... if anyone doesn't mind going over and answering some of the bogus stuff being posted, that would be cool. (Diaries stay up on the reco list by continuing to get comments, basically)

Who knows. It could happen. But this is a very different type of forum, so it would require a much different way of doing things. Hmmmmm.
On the bright side, I bet they know we are here!

I do understand what you mean about having to do things differently. JK could use a pseudonym and post in the Kerry forum with us...just mingling and pretending to be "an average citizen." I'll buy his star...
Only this group would know his real identity.
Is the DU handle Ranking_Member taken yet?

What would I do without you!
I agree. But I was thinking more along the lines that DU is set up like a round table conversation whereas DKos is more of a lecture hall. It's just a difference in how you communicate and the time involved.

Amazing however how some Cegelis supporters are bitching because of this endorsement (I dont know what to do with it either). Somehow, the endorsement of a candidate by "an irrelevant, failed presidential candidate nobody cares about" becomes an important thing that he should not have done. (I am not talking about any DUer here).
I guess it says something on the role Kerry is playing.

| 12. Hey, I liked this comment |

For any of you who didn't have the time to sift through the whole thread:
You da man, John (4.00 / 2)
A month or so ago some friends of mine told me a great story about their ski trip in Sun Valley this winter. Once they arrived in town their son (age 13) kept pestering them to take him to your place just to say hi, and they kept telling him, hey, he's a busy man, we can't go bothering him like that, okay? And besides, we don't know where he lives. The next day the boy's mother got a phone call while she was skiing on Baldy. It was the boy's grandfather, in whose home they were staying for the week. He'd just called to ask her: "Is it ok if I take Hunter over to John Kerry's house for lunch?" Mama about peed in her Patagonias.
Anyway, Hunter Levy is your biggest fan in the big red state of Idaho. And I thought it was pretty cool that you'd take time out to break bread with the adolescent lobby who can't even vote yet.

Thanks for posting it here. We can never have too many "John Kerry is a super-nice guy" stories to spread around.

Some of the sort-of-nasty comments raise points that he should probably be aware of. I've tried to go lightly on the troll-rating. Although there are a couple actual, absolute trolls that showed up, in addition to the "only a troll when it's Kerry" types.

| 19. I was surprised how many mentioned Kos's book as gospel |
|
even suggesting Kerry could learn from it. I think Kerry knows what happened in the primaries - the only value might be knowing the mythology of the Deaniacs. (Kerry likely remembers the at least 4 or 5 months when it was Dean, the super-star in the media.)

| 23. In a way, it's no different than the deference |
|
given to various talking heads. I remember thing in 2000 that Brokaw completely commanded more respect than either Gore or Bush in one of the debates. (I may actually have the election off). I have never seen a Kerry interview where this happens - even on MTP where the format often leads to this, Kerry ultimately didn't seem defensive and got his points out. (Katie Couric trying to control the Kerry interview deserved the laugh it got.)
Here though, it's Kos's disciples who are pushing this here. Somehow, they miss that Kos was a paid Deaniac and his view of the election is from a fairly remote and atypical point of view. If the Dean campaign were as inspiring and as coherent as these Deaniacs still insist, he would have won. The only value of his book is to see the mind set of the sub culture where he exists.
