Now, be honest. This candidate should be well qualified, likable, experienced in governing and listening to the people. This person must also have leadership qualities and integrity and be able to maintain long term relationships. There is also a need for this candidate to be able to reach across the aisle and work with those in the opposing party.

Your choices are quite intriguing and, I think, quite fair and balanced. I commend you on being totally open-minded about this.

ahm, I thought about it for a long, long time. (1 -2 seconds) and decided to go with Sen. John Kerry as my choice. See, I think he is the candidate that best exemplifies my idea that the tallest people make the best presidents. Lincoln was tall, as was Thomas Jefferson. I rest my case. (And he has, by far, the best hair. And he bought me a beer, and well, as is well known, I am easy. Once you buy me a beer, I'm yours forever.)

14. I decide to post this in GD-Politics and even when I use the most

obvious qualities of Kerry, some of the responses are interesting. Of course Candidate A has the most votes, but some seem to think Gore is the candidate I am referring to. Now that is strange, because, I classify him within the loud Anti-Bush group. What could Gore run on this time except Anti-Bush government and Global warming?

17. What I was going to post on GD and decided to post here

Tell me what the candidate A stands for and I will vote for him.

The qualities you describe here are only additional qualities I'd like to see on a candidate (at least the qualified, experienced, and listening to people).

As for the last few qualities you posted on GD, I dont care, largely because these are exactly the same qualities that are stressed to push unqualified candidates (charisma and likeness). These are the qualities that supposedly had Bush elected.

I understood this poll (at least the one you posted on GD) as a spoof of the polls that are on GD, and if it is, I apologize, but too many people over there took that as a serious (as serious as can be on GD) poll.

My first reason to like Kerry is his position on the issues I find the most important for our future.

18. Both polls represent the shallowness of voters when it

comes to picking candidates. I realize we at the JK forum love the man but respect his opinions and voting record. We make well researched informed choices, but many people do not. They vote on one or two things only. Of the attributes I mentioned, it is my opinion Kerry fits them all well.These things are also important in a candidate to some degree and some of the candidates who are being suggested don't even come close to measuring up to these. To get into issues would bog down the poll and as we know, many of those going for the lastest fad candidate or someone similar base there opinion on one issue or current event only. As I explained to one poster, it is assumed that candidate A is a progressive and votes our ideals most of the time and is not to be considered a one issue candidate. I was hoping to get people to start thinking about how much they really do not know about their choice of of a candidate and also how silly these polls really are. It is interesting that some people see they're candidate in candidate A, when in fact, their candidate isn't even close.
