What does (pleasantly) surprise me is that there are almost as many Catholics as there are Protestants.

how many registered DU users there are in total, the poll is not telling us much.
But yeah, I voted.
Catholic, if you must know. ;-)

I saw the percentages for atheist and agnostic.
However, I was heartened to learn there are Muslims among us. We've got Mormons, too, or at least people who were brought up Mormon. I'd like diversity, even if we clash a bit.

And fun.
Was anyone else surprised at the low number in the Jewish category?

but I wouldn't be surprised if a number of those describing themselves as atheist or agnostic are Jews by family origin.
Certainly a high percentage of Jews are liberal Democrats, so you would expect quite a few to be members of DU.

| 10. There are almost 65,000 members of DU... |
|
A poll registering such a small proportion of that is pretty meaningless imo. I suspect that the ticked off atheists who post a lot were probably very motivated to 'show their colours', so to speak.

| 14. I tend to doubt all 65, 000 are still reading DU, though. |
|
Two things I know: many have been banned and many are multiple names for one person.
But you're right that such a poll shows little. I just thought we should be well-represented because I think our numbers are always underestimated. B-)
