We did a whole unit of her back in High School. I was against the death penalty as far back as I can remember, but I couldn't really put into words why. I could just say I didn't feel we had the right to treat other humans that way. But after reading her interviews, it helped me form a more thorough reason.

they're excellent. I heard her speak, she makes some compelling and rational arguments.

| 8. There are so many great Catholic women, |
|
laity as well as religious. Sister Helen Prejean, Sister Joan Chittister, Sister Dorothy Stang, may she rest in peace.
The many nuns whose names I don't know who are in prison for anti-war civil disobedience or for giving sanctuary to illegal aliens. (We have been ridiculous about our treatment of illegal aliens, allowing thousands to pour over the borders, ignoring most of them but prosecuting some who are in danger of their lives if they're returned to their home countries.)
