I've just returned from a parish council meeting, and Msgr. Grant told us something absolutely remarkable and heartwarming: since yesterday afternoon, we have received financial gifts in memory of His Holiness in excess of $4,000 from NON-Catholics. Most have been designated for our food bank, pre-school and after-school programs; I am quite sure John Paul would have approved, given his deep concern for both children and the poor.
