Former St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke
apologized for his attacks on Archbishop Wuerl of Washington and Bishop Paul Loverde of Arlington, Virginia. Burke stuck his foot in his mouth in a videotaped interview with Randall Terry, and made the excuse later that he didn't think that Terry wouldn't take the tape and make it public.
What was Burke thinking? Someone should have explained early in his priestly career that you can deal with the devil, but you'll always wind up on the short end of the stick. Terry was not to be trusted and I would've thought that a man of Burke's position would know better. Guess not though.
I just don't know what to say. Burke's hurting the church with his actions. I said it before and will now again, if it wasn't for the parish I'm part of now I probably would've left the church by now.
