My dearest friend is bipolar and realizes she will need meds the rest of her life. I have been "with" her when she's spun out of control with the highs and the lows. Made me love her even more. The pure rawness of her emotions taught me much about my own, and that's what life should be, us learning and loving allows us to evolve.
love and hugs from me

what do I have to say about that thread? Does not suprise me at all. Putting people in boxes is an Amerikan past time. My advice: Don't bother with it.

when people don't link to the "view all" version. That said, while some of that was prejudicial, the guy was asking for advice for himself, not how to handle a BPD relationship. I appreciate that people were honest about how hard it is. I don't know if I could handle it.

"should i get into this relationship" with "are all bipolar people evil and unlovable" i wouldn't take the responses personally. bp is a tough thing to have, and it is very hard on the loved ones who are in it with you. sticking with someone you love, and deciding whether to walk into it in the first place are not really the same thing. i love my daughter, but if i had been given the choice- this beautiful baby has this gene, this other baby does not, pick one, would i have chosen this cross? i don't think so.
