The proposed performing arts center in downtown Las Vegas is "a done deal," its executive director said, thanks to a $50 million boost to be announced today from a local philanthropic foundation.
The gift is the largest charitable contribution ever made in Nevada, the Reynolds Foundation said.
State Archivist Guy Rocha said that is almost certainly true.
Fred W. Smith, chairman of the Reynolds Foundation, said the gift is the largest donation the foundation has ever made. The foundation has made more than $900 million in grants.
