| Would anyone be able to help me evaluate an ebay camera...? |
|
Let me know, and I'll provide a link to the auction. I've been shopping for an Olympus OM 1, 2 or MD model.
I understand they are great cameras to learn on and they are quite durable. I've been following a few auctions for them over the past month or so... This one hasn't been bid up by much. I'm wondering if it just isn't a very good prospect or if I'm very lucky to find one auction that few have noticed.
Anyway, if anyone is around that may be willing to help me out, please let me know!
Thanks, bliss_e. :hi:

| 1. I don't know much about that camera... |

...but if you're buying on ebay be careful! I bought my digital camera on ebay a few years back, and I got a good price on it too, but you just have to beware of the sellers with bad ratings. I'm sure you're well aware...
How much are you looking to spend on the camera? I looked them up just now and there are quite a few out there reasonably priced on ebay. They look to be old, but well taken care of, and also good to learn on. Personally I'd rather "learn" on a digital... that way it costs next to nothing except when you shoot a "keeper".

(I like your name!)
In communicating with others that know more about cameras than I, I wasn't looking to spend much more than $100 for the body and maybe $50 more for lenses if they are included...
I actually have a digital. You say it's better to learn on that? Actually, that makes a lot of sense--as I wouldn't have to continously spend on film. So maybe I'll stick with this a while before investing in anything else. Thank you!
Oh and I know what you mean about ebay and the people with poor ratings. I'm very picky about what I'll consider purchasing based on ratings. I got burned once by some guy claiming something (not a camera) was "mint." I got the item and it was anything but mint. Their feedback was lower than I had bought from prior--so I learned that lesson. :hi:
