In for a penny.....10 min after opening the box with alien filters....and a lens

After Mr. Regna explained a few things and some of them started to sink in I went to e-bay and bought a 100-300 lens for a great price, and 3 filters.
One an ultraviolet, one a polarizer, and one a fluorescent filter. The 3 filters were less than 1 filter costs at Ritz camera, and they arrived unlabeled though beautifully packaged.

I just opened the box, put on the lens, and the violet looking filter and walked into my back yard.
Some of the pictures were unfocused, some awful, and these two are making me happy, the color was generally off, so I made one of them b/w.

I think what I need to try is the one I think is the polarizing filter.

1. I can't help you with any of the technical aspects

Sorry about my lack of knowledge. I just wanted to say congratulations on your new purchases and to admire your pictures. I love the details on the pinkish rose leaves in the second one, and the contrast between the iron and the maple leaves in the first. Can't wait to see what the other filters do.
