my shadow experiments
Yesterday afternoon there was a couple of hours of sunshine, so I took advantage of it. I may actually have to use one of these experiments because the weather forecast for the next week looks cold and overcast..........no, I am not entering an indoor shadow photo.

1. Emotionally speaking - first reaction is
that I like 1 - 3- and 5 best. The other two are not as extraordinary as 1-3-5.

The first one is a beautiful depiction. It looks soft, and lush and inviting to go down that path. Good show of shadows.

The middle one is intriguing, makes me wonder how the photographer got up in the helicopter to take it, the time of day because of the length of the shadow. I do wish the face of the figure on the left were a bit more defined.

And the last one is great to me because of the wonderful curves. And I also think the shadows qualify!

2. I like 1,4,5 the best.
1 might be a bit too subtle though. Still, I like it. 5 is shadow streaks....not a definite outline but lines of shadow that create a bit of mystery.

I'd crop 4 a tiny bit. (but that's just me)

I remember you saying how much you love outdoor pictures and didn't like indoor ones during the 'black' theme.

3. I really like that last photo.
It feels so welcomed. The shadows are so subtle but seem to complete the scene.

4. Thanks everyone
I will probably enter number five if I don't get anything better, but I would love to have a bicyclist in it. I can't figure out what's around that curve either, and not sure where the path goes! By my calculations, it shouldn't be there because it would run smack dab into a major roadway and a major river. Obviously I am going to have to check it out. Maybe it dead ends. Either that or it turns into dirt trails that go under the roadway.

As for the helicopter, LOL. It is a bike trail made from a railroad right of way, so I was merely on an overpass. I keep trying to experiment with photos on the overpass, but it only opened in late autumn.

5. I've become most partial to the first one, the more I look at it the more I like it.
But,
if you have a bike, park it at the top of the curved road, hang a helmet on the handle bars, and go back to your original vantage point and try a few shots. If you park it lower you'll disturb the curve probably.

One of my favorite photos of my biking trail is one where I parked my bike in the top third of the photo.
