7. You are a good photographer

I don't know why your photos are being ignored. If I had more time I'd comment on a few of them. Maybe I will later.

I've noticed fairly tight cliques all over this cyber village. Don't think it's only here in this photography section. The internet tubes get tangled up a bit and people are fearful of newcomers. It's just part of our culture.

There were a couple of photos I slapped up that were ignored.

Getting into a clique can be tough and take time. You have to kiss butt with the social director. That goes without saying.

All in all this seems to be a casual place. That can be a good thing and it can be a bad thing.

10. I'm sorry you find the photo group

a tight clique. As long as I've been a part of it people have tried to be welcoming, helpful and open to new members and their photos. Some of us have been here a long while, some not so long. As I told juxtaposed you will pretty much get out of the group what you put into it. I haven't been around much for a while, that life thing, so when I do post a photo I don't expect many comments since I haven't been commenting. When things are busy I will often come look, it is a great way to get rid of stress, but may not comment because I am out of time before I even finish opening new posts. I doubt I am the only one this happens too.
I'm not sure who would be the social director here, let me know if you find out who it is.:) A late warm welcome to the group.

I was going to just let this go. Seemed at first to be a pretty silly thing to get into a pissing match over.

Have a question. If someone uses the phrase "be one of us" can you tell me who "us" is?

Oh, and it doesn't take superhuman perception abilities to identify the "Social Director".

I would think refers to the Photo Group as a whole. I don't believe anyone intends to be cliquish. Some of us have been here for quite a while, years in fact (I think there were about 11 members in here when I showed up; I remember when there was one poll for photo contests), and know each other fairly well, so perhaps we interact more with each other, but no one needs to feel excluded. Just jump in and make yourself known.

28. Hi, I have a suggestion

I just erased what I was about to say, because it got long and boring. But really I would just ignore any post or persons that bother you here, and try not to personalize posts. Admittedly it is hard in a small group like this, but I know I function much better as a contributor if I try not to personalize posts of others, and I try to keep my own posts as impersonal as I can, while at the same time not being unfriendly. It is kind of a fine line, I admit. I probably comment on photos as much as anyone here, but it is just because I like to. I try to do this while commenting mainly on the photos, and keep from making any personal comments. Others may do differently.............it is just a difference in personal style. Try to learn to accept that other people's posting styles are probably different from yours and mine. I am sorry that you are bothered by other people's posting styles, but I just really urge you to continue to contribute your great photos here, and just realize that "we" are just a group of very different individuals with a common interest in photography. My photos are often ignored but I don't take it personally. I just figure everyone else doesn't know a good photo when they see it. :rofl:

I would have welcomed you here but I don't seem to remember your first post. IIRC, my first post here was completely ignored. I paid everyone back for that by entering the next contest! I'm not exactly sure if that was the sequence of events........but my point is that I could have posted something like "how come all my posts are ignored?" and it would have been true, and not after fifteen minutes, but after a couple of days. I'm still here, making a nuisance of myself, and I really have never had any complaints despite all that. It is all ok. When someone posts something that is annoying to me, I just try to let it go. It really *is* all about the photography, not about how many people respond to posts and in what manner.

I'm glad you are here, and am actually grateful for every person here that chooses to contribute in whatever manner they want, that includes you, juxtaposed, and everyone else.

You posted on Super Bowl Sunday. Don't expect many to swing by. If they weren't watching they were avoiding. lol You might want to scroll through some history here, read the threads paying particular attention to dates and times. You will find some that none commented on, some that hardly anyone commented on, some that were hopping with comments and some that have comments but spaced very far apart of in burst spaced a part. No one has ever been "blackballed" though a few have had to have it pointed out that this is a very friendly, laid back group and we expect no less from new people. The best way to get positive attention it to give positive attention. The best way to get comments is to give comments. I think you can see a pattern there. :) It is a place to have fun, learn and most important enjoy each others photos. You will get out of the group pretty much what you put into it. Welcome. :hug:
