I use flickr (pro) to upload a lot of my pics, especially the better ones. Im thinking of switiching to smugmug or using smug mug as an extra site for the best of the best. any advatages/disadvantages? the $40 isnt an issue?

That you can sell through smugmug, and not flickr? I'm asking, not telling, as in, I am not really sure.

| 3. Depends on what you are looking for. |

Flickr tends to focus on the social aspects. Smugmug tends to focus on the presentation and sales.
Nothing wrong with having both, each for their specialization.

with them. I'm not familiar with what Flickr lets you do but both smugmug and zenfolio (probably more out there) will let you sell prints at a profit, take the orders, print and ship them and send you a check after deducting cost. You do pay a yearly fee and there is a charge for prints and a percentage of your mark up. All of that is explained thoroughly before hand. You will pay more yearly but both have no storage limit. I do have a smugmug account and do receive a 1099 every year for taxes. Looking into Zenfolio on a friend recommendation. For posting here or elsewhere online I use the free version of photobucket.
