really like the fog in the first one. It looks so quiet and peaceful. But I love the way the sky/clouds blend with the trees in the 2nd one !

for me the first shot was a "lucky shot" with the birds just flying through the scene. I admit, I am kinda proud of it :)

That first one is perfect. And just look at all that negative space in the second. A perfect example of the negative space becoming the subject. Well done.
On edit, I'm really getting tired of that auto fill and auto correct.

| 9. I really like 1,2,3. Especially 2. |
|
NV Whino is right...2 is an example of negative space. The trees, grass, benches being all part of the subject...and the background being the negative space...everything not the subject.
We use negative space all the time in our photos. When you place a white flower against a black backgroud...the flower is the subject and the black background is the negative space. The negative space chosen - black (and not just black) - causes the white flower to come off even better in the photo... it enhances it. So that would be the use of negative space to make the subject "pop".
Course, there's absolutely no guarantee that the theme will be negative space. There's still the final poll and that's what counts.

the first one really is my favorite in the whole series I shot that day.
And thank you for the explanation of negative space.

the first three leave me speechless. They will go into the annals of my favorite shots of yours along with the woman going up the stairs of course.
and yes - the second one - for that one alone we should have a negative space contest Congratulations missHoneychurch

Well, it didn't become the "negative space" in the contest. But maybe another time.
Btw, the person going up the stairs was a monk ;)
