1. They're both beautiful...
But I prefer the one on the right...

Somehow, getting closer to the image makes it more personal.

Also, getting closer to the right-handed image makes the back-lighting more prominent, and therefore enhances the picture even more.

But they're both beautiful!

I hope that helps!

2. Thanks for the input CAPeggy!
I've always really liked it (esp. the one on the right) but my husband just shrugs and says it's too artsy fartsy! He says turn on the light so I can see some detail! It used to feel like he rained on my parade, now I just tell him he doesn't know what he's talkin' about! :spank: With love, of course!

3. Tell him that
anybody can take a snapshot but it takes an artist to do artsy fartsy.

Both are very nice but I prefer the one on the right as well...getting closer in makes it more intimate.

4. Right as well
Like CaliforniaPeggy, I also prefer the one on the right. I find the one on the left has too many distracting elements. It's still a good shot but the one on the right is better.

5. I love both
I have a kind of thing for backlit shots and these are the ultimate. There's some mystery and illusion............ I don't even consider myself artsy fartsy, but maybe I am by your hubby's definition!

6. the closeup is superior
and gives me a sense of comfort (like when I used to milk cows at 5am on a cold morning and would lay my drowsy head on their flank...)

7. I like the close-up best as well.
It's a sweet shot and I like handmade34's comment. In the full version there are just "too many notes" to concentrate on.

8. Tough one
There's really too much going on in the left one, but the fuzziness of the hair bothers me when you crop in that close. Maybe there's a step in-between that would work.

9. The tight crop is better, hands down

All the visual interest is in the upper left side where the silhouetting is the most prominent.
