My wife wants me to cut the flowers when they wilt. I know
that is a good practice, but I like watching the changes as they die. I find them beautiful and repulsive.

1. I haven't even seen any peonies yet, and yours are dying already
I guess I'm a few miles north of you. Decay is oftentimes beautiful if you take time to really look at it.

2. My Peonies are finished for the season. The roses
are producing like crazy. The Coneheads are ready to explode.

12. My peonies are just spikes coming up out of the ground,
and one of them hasn't even surfaced yet.

7. That reminds me of Li'l Abner's philosophy:
Don't pick the apple, wait for it to fall to the ground.

4. I feel the same way about raking up leaves every autumn.....
people don't realize that the trees need their leaves to decay and replenish the soil beneath them for food.....leave your leaves where they fall for the trees sake!
