Seeing the Amaryllis through it's 2011 incarnation

Not much to show from my neck of the woods, I've been on a photography hiatus due to lots of overtime keeping me away.
But I did enjoy my huge amaryllis, so here it is again before it died

The lighting is nearly perfect and the "negative space" sets it off.

Going to share a photo with you. This came about from 1 Amaryllis that was planted in the yard. Not my photo or house but my brother's. If you only lived in a warmer climate yours could multiply too.

nicely presents the slightly wilted petals... much character (they remind me of the hibiscus I shot a few weeks ago)

I am on vacation at home... I am probably the only person who "vacations at home" I will be very hesitant to go back... I am enjoying mowing my lawn and painting and hanging out with my kids. Took this of my old garage this evening as the sun was setting... tomorrow I will be ripping up carpet and painting and putting down a new floor... :-) My daughter is having surgery soon (on her feet, so she can do a marathon with me next year... hmmm) and will be staying here to recuperate (not the garage, the house)

10. This is a wonderful panorama shot with the accents of the colors on the tree tops.

About your plans, that's what I do too - the ripping up carpet and painting and a new floor. I just can't do it all tomorrow. One at a time.
