http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2011/01/top-ten/top-ten-photographyI guess I'm late to this but tuned into local PBS station this morning and they were showing "National Geographic's Top 10 Photos of 2010" .... The photos are great but better are the stories behind them... very inspiring

is the hour long program... the video presents the photographers and they discuss technique and experiences... I was enthralled

In light of recent news of Warren Jeffs and what he did to 12 year old girls, I find this photo very disturbing. Their total enslavement is shown in that they cannot even dress appropriately to be in water, yet they feel joy in even this smallest bit of "freedom". Very sad . . .

the photographer who did the photos of life in a single cubic foot gave the editor over -44,000! photos to work with... thank goodness for digital...

I can imagine the editor having a tough time winnowing it down.
