| Does anyone have experience with Blurb for self-publishing. |
|
A friend of mine is trying to talk me into publishing some of my photos in a book (for limited distribution, of course). I know nothing at all about this, but I see SmugMug links to "Blurb."
Any thoughts?

And if you don't want to deal with order fufillment it's a good way to go.
It also has a lot of tools and options to create your publication.

That sounds good to me. I'm not thinking "mass market" here or anything, so order fulfillment is probably not an issue.
The hard part will be deciding which photos to use. I got a million of 'em. :)
They don't require RAW or anything like that, do they?

Look into CreateSpace.com too. They are under the Amazon umbrella and I've published several books through them. That will get you distribution and sales on Amazon.

| 4. Thanks, NV, I'll check that out. |

It occurs to me that I have prints of only a very few of my photos and making a book might be a much better way to keep them and share with family, friends, etc., whether or not any "stranger" might want to pick one up. My friend is really pushing me in this direction, and it's a good winter project to sort things out.

| 5. Blurb is great for trying things out. You can play around for free. |

I've been playing with a book for a couple of months now. Friends of mine have published some with them. You really have nothing to loose and the experience of putting a book together is great for learning.
