This annual event provides a rare holiday shopping experience, enabling the public to purchase unique, artist-made work, meet with the artists, and tour the Guild facility and studios. Established in 1971, the Midwest Clay Guild is one of the oldest ceramic cooperatives in the country. The Guild is comprised of potters, ceramic sculptors, and a painter who create a wide range of work, from plates and bowls to figurative sculpture and installation objects. The Guild’s artists show their work locally and nationally in art fairs, galleries, juried exhibitions, and solo shows. Many of these artists have worked on large-scale sculpture projects, including Chicago's Pier Walk and Cows on Parade. In addition, the Guild’s members have been recognized with prestigious awards, grants, and artist residencies. The Guild sends out publicity releases to many publications and we send postcards to our substantial mailing list (over 2000 people). Guest artists can include up to 50 names in our mailing, and will be provided with additional postcards. The space fee for this year is $65 and the commission is 25%. We have several options for display space and tables are provided.
Participants must be present, or arrange representation throughout the weekend. Artist interested in participation should submit 5-10 images, (Slides or CD’s accepted) along with a resume or CV, and SASE
