| Does anyone here know approximately how much an original Grandma Moses |
|
painting would go for?
A friend of mine, a senior bachelor, has a signed orginal Grandma Moses painting--passed on to him from his mother who died ten years ago. It is framed and in good condition (needs professional cleaning as it is a bit gray). It is most definitely an orginal. he thinks it's worth maybe a few thousand, but only two weeks ago I saw one valued at over $40,000 on the antiques road show. His mother was a collector and owned a very famous estate in Brookville MD, the authenticity is not in question, just the value.
The name of it is called "Early Americana" and it depicts harvest time at a farm with pumpkins and men bailing hay on a country farm, autumn. I can't seem to come up with anything on google except bio's of Moses. Any input is greatly appreciated!

| 1. It's probably best to contact Sotheby's directly |

Their estimates tend to be on the conservative side, but it's a good place to start.
