multi-ethnic dolls. I am part of a multi-ethnic family (I am of native American and European descent, my husband is of Thai and European descent). I am trying to find a doll that "looks" more like my daughter than the ones in the store. Either the dolls are blondes with blue eyes, or if they have dark hair and brown eyes, they are african american. It seems like the whole asian market is totally overlooked, which amazes me, since most of that stuff is manufactured in ASIA for crying out loud.
If anyone knows of any place I can get such a doll, I would appreciate it!

there is an Asian friend of Barbie doll named Kira. I'm not sure they still make it anymore but there also were some in the international line. Of course most Barbies look the same except for the make-up and hair...

I just googled "ethnic dolls" and got some hits. http://www.beyondplay.com/ITEMS/D45A.HTM http://www.octopuscrafts.co.uk/dolls/http://www.integritytoys.com/playline.html#I really like some of the ones at the last link... much cooler than Barbie!

| 5. Have you seen the BRATZ line of dolls? |
|
They are multi-ethnic and very cute. They have a urban look, and look more teenager-ish (I know that isn't a word), but I've seen small children with them.
Also I don't know if you have a Build a Bear store near you. They also have dolls, similiar to the BRATZ line that are multi-cultured and very cute!
Every now and then, cabbage patch makes dolls that have an olive skin tone, but it's not all that frequent.
Let us know if you find anything that works for you from the resources listed here!
