Aidan Delgado spoke at our church yesterday

He is 23, fulfilled his duties in Iraq as
a mechanic, refused after three months to
carry a firearm and announced he was a CO
and wanted to go through the paperwork
for that. The army kept him from going
home, took away his vest armour and his
buddies dissed him.
You may have read about him...he's from
Florida and is speaking out across the
country on what's really going on in Iraq.
He was posted at Abu Ghraib.
He is a good speaker with a good slide presentation.

I don't know who is sponsoring him or how
to get in touch with him at this point but
some local news has been covering him.

It sounds like it was a good presentation. What was the reaction of those who attended? Supportive?

So how's your resurrection going Rev?

3. It's different this year.

I believe in the resurrection of the dead. I have been contemplating our culture's fear of death, and our reaction to it. I have been pondering what our faith has to say about death, and how much of it we truly believe in our hearts.

But mostly, I have been praying for ways to spread peace and enlighten hearts and minds that are hurting. I may need to re-read Nouwen's "The Wounded Healer."

4. Do you believe that people's lives can be resurrected?

I think that's the message from Easter. All
our lives, goals, dreams, hopes, etc. can
be resurrected knowing that death isn't the
end, it's just the beginning of new life.

I belong to a very progressive church Rev....
one that you can probably guess. This Lenten
season brought me closer to the activist Jesus,
one who laid his life down to bring a new message
and renewed life. This is the Jesus I want
people to know, because actually a lot of DUers
can relate to this Jesus. We are just messengers
after all.

I'm feeling resurrected. Hope your journey of
faith is renewed.

My personal faith is renewed.

It's my vocation that's feeling wounded. God help me, I have never wanted to get in the way of the Gospel.

Right now, I'm addressing Catholic hatred and intolerance, which has been an issue in my community for far too long. It is time for the United Methodists here to seek reconciliation and love. But before some can do that, they have to embrace their own pain and then let go of it. It is an enormous task, but one which must be done.

If you would, please pray for our churches, that they may be a witness for love and peace, right here in Wisconsin.

Seems corporate churches all over
have forgotten Jesus' words.

I do find the Gospels tend to get in the way.
The Q brings me back to Jesus and God.

I like to read "The Message" by Eugene Peterson. It helps me keep my "Q" in line, and often frees me from assumptions on interpretation.
