It has been a simply horrid day...

I am so glad to have this group at this forum to come to. In order of events:

1) just after lunchtime, I checked my home e-mail from the office, and learned that a friend, a member of my church family, has been told that her nephew had been medi-vac'd to Germany from Baghdad after a car bomb exploded as the armored HumVee he was driving passed by it. He has been listed with "very serious" injuries, and part of a leg has been amputated.

2) I went to the grocery store after work, and my atm card was REJECTED! A trip to the bank revealed that my 2 week direct deposit paycheck last week was only 1/2 of what it was supposed to be. Of course, it is Friday, and I can't call payroll until Monday. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH

3) When I got home from the bank, I found out that a friend of my niece's 19 year old son hung himself overnight. He is a mess. She is trying to comfort him, but it's going to take some time. I called and spoke with him. He doesn't want to talk to out pastor, because he really doesn't know her well...he's 19...much too sophisticated for church....

I am so glad you are all here to listen. Please send some prayers for my friend and her nephew, and for my own grand nephew. They are both hurting and need the comfort prayers will bring..both all of those of which they are aware, and those they are not aware of.

I really hope things change. I don't know how people manage sometimes, but somehow, they seem to. Prayers to you, your friend, and her nephew, and your grand nephew.
