| 1. Well, UCC is a very de-centralized denom. He musta belonged to a |
|
rather conservative parish. ------------------------------------------------------ URGENT yet easy! | 2. I would guess he didn't go to church much. |
|
In my hometown, UCC was the Church du jour. Anyone who was anyone important went there. We were Methodists. :)

Sorry, but I like that joke. :-)
It's hard for me to believe such a rigid personality belonged to a liberal denom. Then again, Nixon was a Quaker.

So it wasn't the United Church of Christ. Nixon was a Quaker? I didn't know that.

| 8. Obviously, Nixon wasn't a very good Quaker, eh? |
|
Personally, I doubt he darkened the door of a Meeting House after he was older than about 12.

| 6. Actually, he was officially Lutheran |
|
:-(
Someone wrote in to the Minneapolis paper's Q&A column, and they said that he was officially a member of a Lutheran church in suburban Virginia.

| 9. Yes, they are in full communion. Rehnquist was UCC only in the summer, |
|
at his summer home in Vermont he attended a UCC church.
But he held his membership in a Lutheran Church.
Although he grew up Congregational in Milwaukee (before the UCC was formed).
