Anyone besides me freaking a little bit about what's going on in media? We're not sincere Christians because we're on DU to the right. We're not true Dems because we may actually be pro life, or pro Christ, or ambiguous about gay marriage? This all makes me sad. And tired.

I find no "good" reason in the bible to be anything else. I am also a Christian and I am not affraid. I refuse to let ignorant people on either side define me.
Boomboom, I know that your conversion to Faith was sudden and took place in a fundamentalist atmosphere. Have you ever thought of attending services at some more liberal (theologically) churches to see how these people cope with being liberal and Christian? It might give you some insight and guidance to know how other people cope with the feelings you are feeling.

That's what helped me. It also helped me to research the faiths, and attend progressive services to see where I fit.
If your on DU, it is doubtful that the Religious Hard-right experience will help.
And progressive churches help one love oneself, heal, and say 'goodbye' to wasteful, destructive beliefs and emotions (like guilt), while emphasizing peace and caring. They help one appreciate the best in oneself, and that everyone is here to contribute in a very special way.

because Jesus is love and respects the dignity of our bodies. For that reason, I am religious Democrat and support Dean for Chair because he is also pro-choice, pro-gay, and pro-Christ.

I don't let others define me. If they do, they aren't worth much of my time.
