Specifically, my need to be a better person and the absolute revulsion and hatred I feel for *? It is wrong to hate, I believe.

| 1. Aye, 'tis a difficult one, this Shrubbie McFuckstick. |

I find myself hating him most infinitely most times.
I know that I should only hate everything he is doing and everything he stands for, but it's so much easier to just hate him and lump it all together. Which is perhaps the same dilemma you have.
I have the added benefit that, as far as I am concerned, he is also personally responsible for me losing my office, a friend, and a good chunk of my psychology on 9-11.
I take some solace in the fact that God is infinitely forgiving; that I can ask God to forgive me, and say that I am just plain not ready to not hate Shrubbie; and that part of my hatred for that piece of shit useless abomination is the way that he has so utterly abused Jesus Christ for his own financial gain, his own gain in power, and to detriment of billions of people just because he finds it funny.

I find myself going through spells where I don't watch the news because I so deeply dislike Bush and everything his administration stands for, as much as a news junkie as I am. It is truly a trial to see our country so wrongly directed, so stupidly handled, partially through the abuse of the Christian message by fruitcakes on the far right. The country has been kidnapped by idiots.
I don't feel at odds with my beliefs, just sorely tested.

It really upsets me the way the GOP and * have used religion and religious people in this country.
Mostly it can be a beautiful part of your life, but what being "religious" in American today means, I want no part of. No part of the mega church, no part of public nostrums underpinned with private hypocracy. No part of do YOUR part to make ME wealthy. No part of lets dismantle our great public education system in favor of private school vouchers to make the whole process even more unequal.
*Sigh*

righteous anger is ok, when the targets are truly evil people.
IMHO, of course.
