just wanted to pass this on: ========= We videotaped events organized by former Moderator Rick Ufford-Chase at the March 16 "Christian Peace Witness For Iraq" in Washington DC, and have posted several video clips for your presbytery to view or download for posting on your own web site. Over 3,000 people attended the worship service in the Washington National Cathedral. Three video clips from that service, in Flash format, each about 6-minutes in length, are linked from the home page at www.PresbyterianChurchUSA.com. You may download the clips for your use by going to www.InterlinkMedia.NET, Client Login, username "peace" and password "peace" (lowercase, no quotation marks).
The clips are of Rev. Jim Wallis, CEO of Sojourners, and Rev. Raphael Warnock, Atlanta Ebenezer Baptist Church, giving a theological basis for protesting the Iraq war. Ms. Celeste Zappala, the mother of an American soldier killed in Baghdad, offers a poignant plea to end the war from the perspective of a grieving parent. All three make for compelling video.
Over 200 people were arrested in front of the White House that Friday night in an act of civil disobedience. On Saturday afternoon Rick Ufford-Chase led a series of seminars at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in DC. In the near future we will post interviews from those events, which can be accessed similarly to the above.
For additional information about the Christian Peace Rally you may see the article written by Ms. Eva Stimson, available from the News Service at www.pcusa.org, and articles by Sojourners at www.sojo.org. Rick Ufford-Chase's organization, Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, organized the weekend. Their site is www.presbypeacefellowship.org.
