| Has anyone seen or read or gotten any info on Frank Schaeffer's new book? |
|
I hear he's got a new one, Patience with God, and am wondering how it fits into the persona he's developing. Frank Schaeffer is such a gifted storyteller, I'm very curious about what he's doing next.
TIA!

| 1. Haven't read it, but I find him a fascinating person. |
|
Politically progressive, and a convert to Orthodoxy. Could've chosen a "Progressive" church, but didn't. I really think Orthodoxy should, logically, lead to a progressive social ethic, but it doesn't seem to most of the time. It does for Schaeffer, though. So, I find him very interesting.

| 3. I know a very progressive fellow who calls himself an outright socialist |
|
who was just officially received into the Orthodox church.
I know other people who converted to Orthodoxy, and they all seem to have a mystical bent that can be satisfied nowhere else.

| 2. I got a copy for Christmas, plan on reading it and a few others I've got collecting dust now that |
|
I'll have some down time. I've only read the prologue so far and I must agree on the gifted storyteller part. I enjoy his writing style in what little I've read thus far.
Have you had a chance to read it yet?
