Our new rector is amazing!

I've been at home after spine surgery so only got to hear our new rector this past Sunday, although I did meet him at a cottage dinner the Monday night before.

Wow, he can rock that church, and it's a huge, old place (and very beautiful). He's a large man with a booming voice and a lovely smile, so he's a Presence. He's also brilliant and (I'm afraid) pretty over-qualified for running just a parish, even though ours is pretty big and busy. I'm afraid he's going to get snatched away from us to do more important things.

We're really fortunate (I won't say lucky, because the folks who chose him and lured him here worked very hard) to have him. I hear he has big plans, and if anyone can pull them off, he can.
