www.ucc.org Or even better: http://www.stillspeaking.com/intro1.htmI tried a local UCC church and it was cool but I can't sit through anything with my kids for an hour and a half. I might try the early service and another congregation.

Welcome! We had a rockin UCC Easter service with a live band. The kids DO make it through because the minister incorporates things like getting up and moving around to Pass the Peace and collect the offering, and the music lets you stand or clap. The kids are totally into it. And yesterday they brought a collection of easter hats for people to wear and passed around a bag of jelly beans! It was a fun, joyful service.

and then the kids go to Sunday school, which they all love because it's fun.

I can't sit through anything ...for an hour and a half
Yeah, what's up with church services that just seem to get longer and longer? When I was a kid and a teenager, church services lasted an hour. Now an hour and a half seems to be the norm, whenever I go (which isn't that often--I'm pretty eclectic and independent and mostly do my own thing or get together with a small group of friends). Seems like, in my experience, 40-50 years ago services lasted an hour, 20 years ago they lasted an hour and 15 minutes, now they're almost always 1.5 hours. Is it just the churches I go to?

| 4. Ours never goes over an hour |

I think it depends on the church (and how long-winded the minister is!)
