| I am trying to live a Christian Lifestyle |
|
A Chrystian mystic lifestyle - that might make a difference.
A small place with not much there. Simple meals. Right work.
Has anyone else tried this? Were you able to make it work in this crazy world of ours?

| 1. No. I have friends that attend Unity Church; |
|
I think that she focuses on this. Other than that, I don't know much about this philosophy, really.

I live alone in a small house. I looked for a very long time for a job that fits my personaility, my talents and my values. I'm finally doing that. I don't spend very much money.
I'm quasi free of things. I let go of a lot of material stuff the last 10 years and I've really concentrated on just having things that are enjoyable to me or that have sentimental value around. You'd be surprised at how little that really is.
I've recently left my mainline church though, because I'm reevaluating my relationship to a community and what I need out of it vs what I really have to offer.
You have to be really prepared for the solitariness of it.
edit: Somedays I'm not really sure I am. But I don't really feel I have a choice. This seems to be the path I was meant to take.

| 6. That is kind of what I have done |

I have a very small house that is very sparse - not much furniture even. I am trying to feed myself for as little as possible and that has been a fun adventure.
I am starting up an inhome business and then will set up a non for profit so that I can funnel any extra money from the business into care for elderly and disabled people who need help with their animals. Will have to work directly with vets for that part of it.
I may not have much in the way of "goods" but I am starting to feel a lot better about my self and my life.

| 7. I would say I know of those who do |
|
There are many folks here in the Ozarks who live quite simply. Some, like you, have set up non-profits to benefit others, others just live simply and quietly. I think that it can work, but it takes a lot of inner work as well as outer work to really pull it off.

| 8. I find that living simply is more of a joy than a challenge. |

It is fun to just see if you can do it. And how much you can save one way or another.
For me it is not a hardship at all.
