Mark Knopfler is a genius.
Truly. After the initial Dire Straits offering, I didn't pay attention. Now I find myself sitting here once again listening to the Sailing to Philadelphia album, just marveling at his incredible depth and talent, not just as a guitar player, but as a songwriter as well.

Even the initial Dire Straits record was a pretty damn good record. The man is an amazing guitarist and songwriter.
