I just picked up Brand New Strings and it kicks ass! Great CD, definitely worthy of the Grammy it received. All of Kentucky Thunder is great but Cody Kilby on guitar is fucking incredible.
I also picked up Allison Krauss and Union Station's new one Lonely Runs Both Ways and as you would expect it is slick, highly produced, very listen-able and ultimately forgettable. Maybe that's a little harsh but after two listenings it sounds like you would expect Allison Krauss to sound, that is great, but it doesn't offer anything that you haven't heard on her other CDs. Maybe it will grow on me, I hope so anyway.
Ricky kicks ass though. If'n yer a bluegrass fan pick his new one on up, you won't regret it. :headbang:
