| i'm stumped, maybe you can tell me... |

i just watched Letterman and he had Alan Jackson on singing 'like red on a rose' and as i was listening, a small flood of memories came back to me that i had heard this song before, but not by him, or at least not like he was singing it. i searched on google for the lyrics and all links led back to Alan Jackson, but it appears from wikipedia it wasn't released until Sept 06, and i heard this long before, at least a year ago, as i recall.
i wish i remembered who sang it, but it was being sung in my ear while i was slow dancing with my long last love well over a year ago, she would play it for me as we danced and held each other, and i wasn't listening to the performer, but to her, thus the flood of memories. . .
i want to remember that it was a woman singing it on the cd we were listening to, but for the life of me, i can't remember.
thanks for any info, sigh. dp

...and not the exact same song. Perhaps it the rythem and tone he is singing the song in that reminds you of another as well.
I hear riffs from bands that I have heard elsewhere, either in their music or in some elses. Sometimes is changed a little or played at a different speed..But it happenes.
