3. I have given up on music from the US and the West for most part

Most of our music these days comes from Japan, China, Russia, India... anywhere the focus still seems to be on new ideas and trying things.

I mostly retreat to my beloved 80s, back when, as you said, the focus was on new ideas and trying things.
