| 1. It's my understanding Trippi was responsible for handling the money. |

I could be wrong, though.
For other reasons, I'd prefer Dean NOT be chair. I am a Deaniac and think that the party machinery will neutralize him and cut him off at the knees - he would be a figurehead at best.
He could be much more effective as a grassroots organizer staying out front of DFA and presenting an 'opposition party' as it were, to the DNC - to keep them from pulling further to the right.
Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for your response. Would you mind reposting in my new post in the General Discussion:Politics section. Under "Question regarding one of my reservation of Dean ofr Chair." Thanks.

| 2. I think Dean gambled with the money in that race |
|
I think he's a bit of a gambler by nature. It hurts to lose, but I'd rather we had somebody who is willing to take some risks.

| 7. Actually, I think Dean will do well in that area. Much like he did as |
|
governor. I think the campaign momentum swept him up way too much and he wasn't paying attention to the financial dealings, leaving it to others as any candidate would.
I think if some of his supporters would back off and STOP attacking other Democrats they would give Dean the room he needs to attain the chairmanship AND succeed in working with ALL factions of the Democratic party.

| 8. I'm glad you brought that up........... |

I don't have a horse in this race, though I'm absolutely anti-Rohmer. At the time the tight money issue came up in the Dean campaign, I was kind of not watching, as my candidate had just dropped out and I really wasn't in the mood to pay attention. In fact, I had forgotten about the money issue involving the Dean campaign, but it is a valid question.
Personally, I think the DNC should have co-chairs. It's a huge job and the person who raises the "inside" funds and is involved in the dispersement, is not necessarily the best spokesperson. The media/public person is usually a different animal. I would see Dean as the later. I doubt if all the hard-core Dean supporters really want him working the backroom, so much as "out there".
I have been minorly interested in knowing why Joe Trippi is supporting Rosenberg. Is it sour grapes or insider knowledge?
At any rate, seeing McAwful leave is all I'm asking.

| 9. The way the primary's are set up |
|
it is crucial to win Iowa and New Hampshire
who ever win those 2 , well then people on the fence jump on board wanting to vote for a winner, the primary situation should be refined so that more states are involved early on, it was not a bad strategy to pour money into those states early on, The attack on Dean by the DNC and media were that they were terrified of a candidate who was for the people and not corporate interests, this is the problem of the whole fascist system, Dean was crushed by the powers that be Dem/republican, there is not much difference between the 2 these days, I think the democratic party is trying to be too much republican lite,............:dem:
