From The Irish Echo:
Martin McGuinness won't be coming to the U.S. for St. Patrick's Day. Sinn Féin says this is due to the "grave" state of affairs in Ireland. Members of the McCartney family are reportedly considering a flight across the Atlantic for the very same reason.
Only a couple of days old, this March, this month of St. Patrick and Irish celebration, is shaping up as a singular and turbulent one.
Already, Sinn Féin has backed away from fundraising during the still scheduled visit by Gerry Adams. The party had little choice because it would have been prevented from raising money anyway.
Adams will not be at the White House on St. Patrick's Day. But he will not be alone in having to make other plans.
